Defining Your Market Positioning
Your market positioning is how you want your marketplace to view you. Ideally, you want potential customers to view you as a specific solution to a clearly defined need. After you have defined your unique strengths, Perspective Internet Consulting works with you to clearly define your positioning:
1. Review Your Current Customer Base
By reviewing your current customer base, we work with you to find any commonalities among the types of customers you serve. Are most of them from an single industry ? Do they have a common demographic? Is there a common problem they are all trying to solve? This provides the base for exploring your positioning.
2. Internal Working Session
Using your unique strengths and the information from Step 1, key members of your team meet with Perspective to analyze, brainstorm and investigate the different ways you can differentiate yourself in your marketplace. The result is a short list of ways to position yourself in your marketplace.
3. Choose Your Market Positioning
Based on the short list from Step 2, Perspective assesses the size of the market, possible media for reaching potential customers, and the cost of reaching potential customers. Using this data, Perspective works with your team to choose your market positioning.
4. Documentation of Market Positioning
The final step in the process is for Perspective to document the results of the process and document them, so they can be easily shared with your team.
